Funeral Arrangements for our former Pastor, Father Trent Watts

On January 17, 2021, Father Trent Watts, Pastor of Saint Therese Parish in Wrightsville Beach, NC, died after a lengthy hospitalization in Wilmington due to the effects of COVID-19. He was Pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Dunn from 1995 until 2000.

The funeral arrangements for Father Trent are as follows: Reception of the Body and Vigil for the Deceased on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 4:00PM at Saint Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington with Very Rev. John McGee, OSFS, V.F., Presiding. Visitation and private prayer will follow until 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at 11:00AM at Saint Mark Catholic Church in Wilmington, with the Most Rev. Luis Rafael Zarama, Bishop of Raleigh, Principal Celebrant. Internment will take place at a later time and will be private to the family, as per the wishes of Father Trent.  Please see the St. Mark parish website for information on seating and for the link to the live broadcast:

Memorial contributions in Father Trent’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Cards may be sent to Saint Therese Catholic Church, 209 S. Lumina Ave., Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480.

Daily Masses are preceded by 15 minutes for Morning Prayer or Evening Prayer.
